There is very little late-ripening Carménère growing in Canada's latitudes but at tiny Lariana, metres from the Canada-US border customs facilities in West Osoyoos, it is something of a signature red. And the hot 2015 vintage has helped, creating a rich, structured red with lovely, ripe blackberry and floral notes. No greenness whatsoever. It is full bodied yet quite elegant with fine tannin. Effortless and very engaging with excellent length. Tasted July 2018. 92 Points
